Product Introduction:
Barite powder, also known as barium sulfate powder, is usually in the form of thick plate-like or column-like crystals. It is mostly in dense block or plate shape, and in granular aggregates. When pure, it is colorless and transparent. When impure, it is stained in various colors. The streak is white, with a glass-like luster, ranging from transparent to semi-transparent. The plate-like crystals have low hardness, complete cleavage at nearly right angles, high density, and do not bubble when exposed to hydrochloric acid.
Barite mainly forms under medium-low temperature hydrothermal conditions. In China, there are huge barite veins in Shaanxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Qinghai, and Xinjiang. Barite is the raw material for extracting barium. When ground into fine powder, it can be used as a weighting agent for drilling mud in oil exploration. When crushed into pieces, it can be used as a material for radiation-proof gravity walls instead of stones; it can also be used as various white pigments, coatings, fillers for rubber and paper industries, and chemical drugs.
Main Applications:
Barite is mainly used in industrial sectors such as petroleum, chemical industry, paint, and fillers. 80-90% of it is used as a weighting agent in oil drilling mud.
Barite powder products are mainly used as weighting agents for drilling mud in oil and gas drilling. Main application fields: Oil drilling, circulating mud weighting agent in rotary drilling in oil wells, cooling the drill bit to remove cuttings, lubricating the drill pipe, sealing the hole wall, controlling oil and gas pressure, and preventing oil wells from spouting.
