(Cationic) Polyacrylamide
Category:
Product Introduction:
Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) is a linear polymer compound. Due to its presence of multiple reactive groups, it can form hydrogen bonds with many substances and be affixed and adsorbed. Primarily, it is used for the flocculation of negatively charged colloids, possessing functions such as clarifying, decolorizing, adsorbing, and bonding. It is commonly seen as white particles or powders. When dissolved, it is important to sprinkle it evenly and slowly into the stirred water to prevent agglomeration.
Main Applications:
In oilfield wastewater treatment, it serves as an efficient flocculant. Its positive charge can quickly neutralize the negatively charged suspended particles, emulsified oil droplets, and colloids in the wastewater. Through "electro-neutralization" and "adsorption bridging" effects, it forms large and dense flocs, thereby significantly accelerating the three-phase separation of oil, water, and solids, resulting in clear treated water that meets re-injection or discharge standards.
In the improvement of crude oil recovery rate, it is used in deep well stimulation and water blocking operations. By injecting into the formation, its molecules can strongly adsorb on the negatively charged rock surface or form gels with cross-linking agents, effectively blocking the high-permeability "flow advantage channels", forcing the subsequent displacement fluid to turn towards the unexploited oil-bearing layers, thereby expanding the swept volume and increasing crude oil production.
